New superintentent takes island post

Talk about pressure. A congratulatory note to Fred Boyles about his new job as superintendent of Cumberland Island National Seashore is signed by Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. It's the handwritten postscript that Boyles read with a mixture of understanding and apprehension.

 

"Protect Cumberland! It's precious to us- JC," the note says.

National Park Service releases Cumberland Island tours plan
